The Treasure Coast Food Bank recently launched an innovative Mobile Food Pantry project. The project consists of two customized step-vans outfitted to combat hunger for those in need in the region. One is a food truck containing a full commercial kitchen with high-end appliances that allows staff to prepare and cook meals on-site. The other van contains multiple refrigeration units to safely store produce, dairy, and other perishable food items as well as plenty of industrial grade wire shelving. Together, these mobile assets are able to distribute fresh, nutritious food to underserved communities that struggle with food insecurity primarily in the Floridian region, but able to go anywhere. By directly serving those in need, the Mobile Food Pantry is helping to fulfill the Treasure Coast Food Bank's mission of stopping hunger.
